This year&#8217;s gathering, coordinated by the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) and generously backed by bet365, achieved remarkable success, accumulating an astounding total of over \u00a350,000 (equivalent to over $62,000!) for SportsAid.<\/p>\n<p>Excitement filled the air as political figures such as London Mayor Sadiq Khan, Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham, and former Foreign Secretary David Miliband graced the pitch, spearheaded by former Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls.  Opposing them was a squad of seasoned reporters, including prominent figures like LBC&#8217;s Ben Kentish and The Times&#8217; Home Editor Matt Dathan. <\/p>\n<p>As the final whistle sounded, the Reporters emerged triumphant with a scoreline of 4-1. However, the true victors were the young athletes who will reap the benefits of the remarkable generosity displayed by all participants.  <\/p>\n<p>Tim Lawler, Chief Executive of SportsAid, conveyed his sincere appreciation, highlighting the importance of this landmark event and the incredible effect the funds will have on nurturing the next generation of British sports stars, especially during this Olympic and Paralympic year. <\/p>\n<p>The departing CEO and current Chairman of the BGC, Michael Dugher, remarked, &#8220;The game commemorating five decades since the Lobby team&#8217;s inaugural match against the Parliamentarians was fantastic. The generosity of BGC members, such as bet365, whose contribution will significantly aid SportsAid, made it even more special.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He jokingly continued, &#8220;That first half may have been the most abysmal display of football I&#8217;ve ever witnessed \u2013 I pitied Stuart Pearce having to manage that lot!
