Three internet gaming firms conducting business in Ontario, Canada have been issued financial penalties amounting to $70,000 in Canadian currency. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) imposed the sanctions after uncovering that the operators had presented slot machine games to patrons without initially confirming that the games had undergone independent verification for fairness.
The most substantial penalty, $25,000, was imposed upon LeoVegas. Bunchberry Limited was also subject to a $15,000 fine for providing unverified games. Mobile Incorporated Limited received the largest penalty, $30,000, for offering numerous unverified games from a supplier that was not even officially listed with the AGCO.
Tom Mungham, Chief Executive Officer and Registrar of the AGCO, stressed the significance of upholding a secure and equitable gaming environment for residents of Ontario. He indicated that a crucial element of their regulatory structure involves mandating operators to exclusively provide games from registered providers that have received certification from autonomous testing facilities. This practice guarantees that the games adhere to the highest benchmarks of integrity.
