A prominent Scandinavian gaming corporation, Better Collective, has purchased two top-tier Netherlands-based sports media platforms, Soccernews.nl and Voetbalwedden.nl, strengthening its position within the European market.

This calculated maneuver precedes the Netherlands’ decision to open its digital gaming sector to independent operators in October 2021. Soccernews, a leading Dutch sports information website, and Voetbalwedden, a well-regarded sports wagering community, collectively reach over 2.5 million users per month. This acquisition grants Better Collective a significant foundation to connect with Dutch demographics as the market undergoes transformation.

The organization anticipates a €3 million increase in revenue during 2022 as a result of this purchase. To oversee the Netherlands division, Better Collective has appointed industry expert Joris Dekkers, who contributes a decade of expertise in online gaming.

Jesper Søgaard, CEO and co-founder of Better Collective, conveyed his excitement regarding the Dutch market’s regulatory adjustments and the chance to advocate for ethical gaming practices.

The Netherlands’ iGaming market is flourishing and poised for significant expansion in the coming years. To capitalize on this exceptional prospect, we are delighted to integrate two prominent Dutch entities and Joris Dekkers along with his skilled group into the Better Collective fold. This calculated maneuver will position us as leaders within the Dutch sports wagering media sphere.
