The Canberra Gaming Establishment is ineligible for JobKeeper, a government aid initiative intended to assist companies in maintaining their staff during the COVID-19 outbreak.

This follows a significant recovery in the casino’s results in the final quarter of 2020. The establishment had previously met the requirements for the second phase of JobKeeper, which ran from September 28, 2020, to January 3, 2021. However, the recent increase in activity means the casino no longer satisfies the program’s standards.

Aquis Entertainment, the proprietor, stated that all personnel had returned to full-time employment and that the casino was operating at pre-COVID levels. They will, however, continue to adhere to all ACT government health regulations, including capacity restrictions based on the casino’s square footage.
